Choice and the Mukka

Choice reviews the Bialetti Mukka
Choice did a review of the Bialetti Mukka Express that appeared Online in October 2006. It may have appeared in the Choice magazine but we did not see it.
The article was sub-headed "Good in theory".
There were several incorrect and/or misleading statements in the article that need to be corrected.
The price Choice quoted in not correct.
The warranty Choice quoted is not correct.
Choice stated "coffee overflowed from the lip of the pot"; this can only happen if too much milk is used or, perhaps, if the pot is not removed from the heat when ready.
Choice stated "the milk froth was poor quality"; this can occur if the wrong milk is used. The type of milk and the age of the milk can affect the quality of the froth.
Choice calimed that "water leaks slightly from the point where the two components are screwed together"; perhaps the two components were not screwed tight enough or on the very rare occasions when this happens the leak disappears once the rubber ring seats properly.
"It's expensive"; compared with what? There is no other product on the market similar to the Bialetti Mukka and that is why it has proved to be so popular. Expense is relative.
